HeliExpo2014-LogoLEADVILLE, CO – The Helicopter Association International (HAI) has selected RAVCO to teach its Mountain Flying Ground School during HeliExpo 2014 in Anaheim, California. The one day course teaches the fundamentals of mountain flight in a classroom setting that is available to all HeliExpo 2014 attendees. “We are honored to be selected again by HAI to teach high altitude and mountain flying” RAVCO head Njord Rota stated, “we consider it a privilege and are humbled to teach at such a prestigious event”.

RAVCO has previously taught the Mountain Flying Ground School during HeliExpo. The course addresses important mountain flying subjects such as meteorology, terrain analysis, aircraft performance, physiology, and aerodynamics and how they differ from normal operations. “The course is a great introduction into the concepts and techniques a pilot must consider to safely operate in the mountain environment. While the course is not a substitute for a complete mountain flying course, it’s a great way for pilots to understand the academic fundamentals needed to fly in this challenging environment” stated Rota. Registration is available through HAI’s HeliExpo website at www.rotor.com and is available to all HeliExpo attendees.

RAVCO specializes in high altitude and mountain rotary-wing flight training and test flight services to the helicopter industry. The company’s training areas encompass some of the most challenging terrain in the Colorado Rockies, including the Nation’s highest landing zone at 14,026 feet above sea level.
